On the 5th of March an Act of Parliament was passed which is identically the same as a proclamation ordered by the Privy Council of the same date 4 This Act provided that the placks of 1557 were to be current for two pence and the lions or hardheads for one penny and that all persons having these were to bring them to John Carmichael warden of the mint who was directed to clip all that were false and to countermark those that were good with a heart and star.

Le 5 mars, une loi adoptée par le Parlement était identique à une proclamation ordonnée par le Conseil privé le même jour. Cette loi prévoyait que les placks de 1557 devaient valoir pour deux sous et les lions ou hardheads pour un centime et que toutes les personnes les possédant devaient les apporter à John Carmichael gardien de la Mint qui a été chargé de couper tous ceux qui étaient faux et de marquer ceux qui étaient bons avec un coeur et une étoile.
